I remember one of the first times I began to realize that what I was being taught was shenanigans was during a Ken Ham video.
He was giving a sermon about, obviously, creationism, and he 'challenged' anyone in the audience who believed in evolution by yelling "WERE YOU THERE?!?" I can still hear it in my head. It's very Aussie.
Anyway, after using the argument that 'since evolutionists weren't there for all of evolution, they have absolutely no ability or right to talk about any supposed evolution.'
He then went on to talk about creation. You know, since he was there.
I think the fact that I value the Bible puts me at odds against the ignorant things Ken Ham says. It would be one thing to say something that science contradicts, but to say things that science and the Bible have no basis for is ignorant.
He has some of the worst ways of interpreting the Bible and reading into it way more than one person can/should. Weatherly stated what anyone following the Stone Campbell movement would say, and that is one should be silent when the Bible is silent, and I think the Bible says a lot less about Creation than most Christians act like it does.
....i don't mean to rock the boat, but I do believe science has a basis for evolution and that is exactly the problem with creationism, the lack of a basis.
