Second Post?

This is my first post, but the second on this blog. If Jeph is an athiest well aquainted with cheating then I am being the stereotypical Christian, arriving late and taking credit for what was already done when I got here.

All joking aside I hope this challenges people of differing view points to think about the hardest questions imaginable. To quote C.S. Lewis (the first of many times to come) "Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important." To give athiest the fair representation due to them I would just replace the word Christianity with belief. I hope that is general enough for everyone to be happy.

Catch you on the Flip side.

One of the few things I greatly dislike about CS Lewis's arguments are illustrated perfectly by that quote (and I remember thinking that the first time I read the book).

Over and over again, he sets up scenarios in which he posits "A is reality, or B is reality, and those are the only possible truths. Now screw."

When he writes things like this, I am reminded of that scene in Family Guy, when Peter is asked to chose the phrase that best describes Brian:
LAWYER: "Sexual deviant; or magic picture that if you stare at it long enough, you see something?"
PETER: "Well... sexual deviant, but that other one's not even-"
LAWYER: "THANK YOU."

CS Lewis strikes me as someone who read about Pascal's Wager and found it to be a strong theological argument.
